ARC is an organisation that offers a confidential counselling service. We offer this service to anyone who needs counselling, young or old, in a warm, comfortable and safe environment.

What does it cost?

Our service is confidential and all counsellors at ARC are volunteers. We do have running costs and we fundraise to supplement our grant from the Local Authority. We do now charge adults a subsidised rate, which will be discussed on booking.

Who funds us?

We are supported by Wokingham Borough Council, Wokingham, Woodley, Twyford, Finchampstead, Winnersh and Earley Town Councils, Primary Care Trust, Local Network Fund and client donations, amongst others.

Who are our counsellors?

Our counsellors go through a very careful selection process, have been recognised with a certificate of competency, are qualified to see clients and undergo a police check in accordance with current government requirements. All counsellors are required to keep their skills up to date by attending training courses every year, following BACP guidelines.

ARC is a member of the BACP (the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and we all abide by the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions. Copies of this framework can be obtained from the BACP website: https://www.bacp.co.uk/events-and-resources/ethics-and-standards/ethical-framework-for-the-counselling-professions/
