Anti
Bullying Campaign at ARC
Awareness of bullying in all environments whether
it be at home, at work or at school has been raised
over the past years. It is now well recognised that
the devastating effects of being bullied can last
a lifetime.
At ARC through gathering of statistics from counsellors,
we have found the main area of concern is for our
young people.
ARC have been awarded funding by the National Lottery
and Berkshire Children’s Network Fund to carry
on its anti bullying training previously taken at
Reading College and two secondary schools. This funding
will allow training to be carried out at all secondary
schools in the Wokingham District over the next two
years.
This work has already begun at Emmbrook, Waingel’s
College and Forest School with students volunteering
to raise the profile of their anti bullying campaigns.
The
aim is that by the end of the two years, the schools
will be in a position to unite in this campaign and
stage a celebration of their work and success during
the National Bullying Awareness week in November 2007.
